Well God Knows My Heart!!!

All scripture references, unless otherwise noted, are from the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
Have you ever heard that phrase given in a plaintive tone of voice? I remember one preacher told about a woman who was prone to gossiping and when he confronted her she responded in a rather plaintive tone of voice, "well God knows my heart." The preacher said in response, "yes He does know your heart." Indeed God knows the hearts of men (and women). The Bible says in 1st Samuel 2:3  "Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed." This is from when Elkanah, who the Bible says, had two wives (not the best idea). Apparently  Peninnah (one of them) who had children gave Hannah (the other) who had none, a bad time about her barrenness. Hannah prayed for a child and God heard and answered her prayer.

Indeed God knows your heart. It was said of the Lord Jesus in Luke 6:8 that the Lord "...knew their thoughts..." and in John 2:24-25  "But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man." God does know the thoughts and motivations of mankind, after all He created us. let me say to those who are prone to gossiping, whether men or women and whether the information is true or not, if you are guilty of spreading malicious news  to the next person, stop! If you feel the need to speak about another person, do it on your knees to God alone.  God knows the truth, "for in Him we live and move and have our being..." (See Acts 17:28a) Nothing is hidden from "...Him with Whom we have to do." (See Hebrews 4:13b)
