To Be Used of God

I have always loved that old chorus, "To Be Used of God."  The words go something like this,

To be used of God, to speak to sing to pray,
To be used of God, to show someone the way,
I long so much to feel the touch of His consuming fire,
To be used of God, is my desire.

How I have longed over the years to be and do what the song says. Since resigning from pastoring the church in Tigard, Oregon, (you can read my testimony at www.thepentecostalpreacher.net) my wife, Shirley, and I have tried to be useful to God's kingdom and to be a blessing to others. It is still our desire today. I will soon turn 70 years old and can honestly say that the last 46 years have truly been the best years of my life.
The Bible says in Psalm 90:9b-10, "...we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away." The context of the above scriptures speak of God knowing  our secret sins and that He could destroy us without remedy and be perfectly justified in doing so.  Thank God for His mercy to us.  So in verse 12 we ask that He "teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."
My desire then is to spend the rest of my life making the message of the chorus, "To Be Used of God..." the theme of rest of my life. How about you?
