Who is this King of glory?

The Bible asks the question in Psalm 24:8 with the following answer, "The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle." I suppose that some would say this refers to God Almighty as different from Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  However it is interesting to me that Psalm 22 starts out with these words, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"  These are the very words of the Lord Jesus as He hung on the Cross of Calvary, the sacrifice for the sins of all men.  Psalm 22 is so obviously prophetic of that day that any who do not see it must be purposely blind.  The next Psalm, Psalm 23 which has comforted so many over the years and even centuries, has this phrase in it, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death..." This beautifully speaks prophetically of when the Lord died.  Psalm 23 certainly speaks of Jesus' death. Psalm 24;8 where our question originates, I believe is also speaking prophetically of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Jesus is that, "LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle." Who is the King of glory? The Bible identifies the Lord Jesus in the book of Revelation 17:14 as "the Lamb,'' and goes on to say "...he is Lord of lords, and King of kings..." When Jesus was interviewed by Pontius Pilate, Pilate asked the question, "Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world..." The Lord Jesus came into the world, born King of the Jews and indeed is King of kings.  Who of the King of glory, the Lord Jesus, He is the King of Glory.

  2. I've thought about this scripture many times. It's one of my favorites. I'm so glad I know the King of Glory and He knows me. Thank God!
