This is a posting for anyone who doesn't believe what the Bible says about a judgment day! For anyone who may read this post let me say, unequivocally, there will be a judgment day. It is coming! God's wrath will be poured out upon all flesh who have not been born again the Bible way. How do I know? How can I be so sure? I'm glad you asked, (even if you didn't). In 1965 when I was living in a sinful lifestyle I had an experience with the Lord Jesus. I had been to some motorcycle races, drinking beer with a friend that Sunday (the day before) and was sitting at my mother's table eating some breakfast, smoking a cigarette and reading the Reader's Digest. A pretty normal day for me. Suddenly I became aware of the presence of the Lord Jesus in the room with me. I didn't see Him or hear Him audibly but He spoke to me and called me by my name. He told me that what I was reading, (I was reading an article about a woman named Jeane Dixon who the article said professed herself to be a prophetess), was somewhat the way it was going to be but, "she is not of Me." Then the Lord told me that the life I was living was leading me to death and that I had a choice to make. Then in tones I can only say was the most unutterable love I have ever known the Lord Jesus said, "make Me your choice, I am the only reasonable choice you have." I made Him my choice that day!
My friend it was real. I stood to my feet, turned in the direction that I sensed the Lord was standing and knowing that I could not serve Him without His help said, "Lord Jesus, if you will help me I will serve You from this day to the day I die." Immediately all the foul language was gone. In it's place was the desire to Serve the Lord. He immediately changed my heart from desiring the things of this life to desiring the things of God. It was real. That was 55 years ago and I still have that same desire to serve the Lord Jesus today as I had then. As immediate as this change in my desires and also simultaneously He said, "read My word and start in Matthew." I had a Bible but had never read it. I, as Apostle Paul said in Acts 26:19, wasn't disobedient to the Lord Jesus but found the Bible and began to read, starting in Matthew. As I wasn't working then, I (probably) read the entire New Testament that week. I couldn't get enough. Within a week I had a dream in which a girl I thought I had loved welcomed me with open arms. When I awoke, the dream seemed so real I wanted to go to Seattle and see the girl. Then the words came to me, "and if you do you will never serve God!" Needless to say I didn't go, but instead put my trust in my new found friend.
This is how I know beyond any shadow of doubt that judgment day is coming on this world. As Paul said in 2nd Timothy 1:12b, "...I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." I also know who I have believed. There can be no question to the reality of God in my mind, for I met Him personally. He took all of my sins away. Up until that time I was perhaps like many, not thinking of judgment. But when the Lord told me to read His word, among other things He told me through His word, of a day that God's wrath would be poured out on a world of unbelievers. My friend, the word of God tells me that God demands repentance. That word repentance from Strong's Greek dictionary is, "μετάνοια metanoia (pronounced) met-an'-oy-ah From G3340; (subjectively) compunction (for guilt, including reformation); by implication reversal (of [another’s] decision): - repentance." The Lord Jesus said in Luke 13:1-5 that if you don't repent you shall perish. There is a judgment day coming!
I don't know if this will ever be read by someone who is an unrepentant sinner, but in case it is I would advise you to do what the Apostle Paul said in Acts 20:21b. That is, "...repent.... toward God, and (put your) faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." Don't delay making Jesus your choice today. Obey the call of God in your life, "...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (see Acts 2:38)
