The True Born Again Experience

We would be foolish if we were to turn back to the beggarly elements of the world, and turn away from the Lord Jesus Christ. In Galatians 4:8-9 Paul wrote, "Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?" Someone might say that there aren't idols or gods anymore that men worship but Apostle Paul wrote in 1st Corinthians 8:4-6, "...we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."  It is no wonder that the apostle wrote in Galatians 3:1,  "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?" 

Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:5, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."  The Lord said in verse 3 that if one were not, "...born again..." he could not see the kingdom of God. Many people who are Christians have thus said they were born again. But the Lord clarified what being born again entailed. In John 3:8 the Lord Jesus said, "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." Just as when the wind blows, we can hear the sound it makes but we don't know where it comes from nor where it goes. It is the same with those who have been born of the Spirit of God, a sound is made but we don't know where It came from nor do we know where It went. That is God's business. 

Friend of mine, have you been born of the Spirit? You may say you have but there was no sound that came with the experience you had. When you are truly born of the Spirit as the Lord said, there will be a sound that accompanies it. On the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2:2-4 when the waiting disciples of the Lord were filled with His Spirit the Bible says, "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." The sound was them speaking in languages they had never learned. God wants for you to have the true born again experience also. The Bible says that He has poured His Spirit upon all flesh.

Peter followed the wonderment that those Jews had, who were there that day, with these words found in Acts 2:16-21, "...this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."  I love that old chorus that says,
     It's real it's real I know it's real,
     This Pentecostal blessing and I know I know it's real,
     It's real it's real I know it's real,
     This Pentecostal blessing and I know I know it's real.
If you have called on the name of the Lord Jesus hoping to be saved don't turn back to the beggarly elements of the world, receive His promise and be born again, you will never be sorry.
