The Dilemma

All quotations of the Bible are from the King James Version unless otherwise noted
The Bible says in Romans 3:23"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God..." That includes you and me. This was truly a dilemma when the Jews came to the realization that they had put to death their Messiah, the Prince of life.  In Acts 2:37 the Bible says, "...they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? For they remembered God speaking to Moses in Deuteronomy 18:15-19,  "...They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him."  The Apostle Peter quoting Moses said in Acts 3:22-23"For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people." The Jews didn't know what they should do!

The vast majority of Jews weren't believers that Jesus was their Messiah In Romans 11:28-33 the Bible says,  "As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!"
To be sure, Israel will one day acknowledge the man Christ Jesus as their Messiah and their God. The Jewish Scriptures say in Zechariah 12:10,  "And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn."

This dilemma confronts men and women today. Not to the Jews only but all mankind everywhere. The answer to the dilemma today is the same one that Apostle Peter gave that day to the Jewish listeners, that is to "...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (see Acts 2:38) God has made a promise to both Jew and Gentile, to men and women, boys and girls everywhere, that if they will obey the gospel they too will be saved. What Peter said in Acts 3:22-23 applies to the Jews and to us Gentiles also. Won't you repent of your sins today? Find someone to baptize you in Jesus name to have your sins forgiven. You then will be a candidate to receive God's promise, the gift of the Holy Ghost.
