All scripture references, unless otherwise noted, are from the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
In the Gospel of Matthew 28:18-20 the Bible says, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." In the Gospel of Mark 16:15-18 the Bible says, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." Then in the Gospel of Luke 24:45-49 The Bible says, "Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." And finally in the Gospel of John 20:21-23 the Bible says, "Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained." Notice that in none of the above accounts was anyone baptized. In each of the Gospel accounts, the disciples were commanded to go into all the world, to preach the gospel of repentance and to baptize in Jesus name.
In Acts 2:38-39 the Bible says, "Then Peter said ... Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." What Peter (standing with the other apostles) preached that day was the Gospel of Jesus Christ in obedience to the Great Commission mentioned above. If you have never repented of your sins and been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness or remission of those sins; if you have never received the promise of the Father that the Lord Jesus said He would send, (See Acts 1:8) don't let another day go by before becoming obedient to the gospel. The Bible says in 2nd Thessalonians 1:7-10, "And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day." Jesus is coming back, are you ready?
