Momentary Expectation

All scripture references, unless otherwise noted, are from the King James Version of the Holy Bible. The Hebrew and Greek meaning of the words mentioned are from Strong's Hebrew Greek Dictionary.

The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth of the rapture of the church. He said that the church would be changed "in a moment in the twinkling of an eye." See 1st Corinthians 15:51-52  How long does it take for an eye to twinkle? I'm thinking of a chorus we used to sing in church, it goes as follows:

We shall be changed, we shall be changed,

Changed from this mortal to immortality,

In the twinkling of an eye.

What a wonderful hope for the church. Based on this thought there'll be indeed no time to mend our ways. I believe the Apostle Paul had insight that was directly from God.  One moment we will be going about our daily lives and routine, the next moment we will be forever with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. It will be a sudden transformation. It is no wonder that Jesus said in Mark 13:35-37, "Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch." The Lord was obviously speaking to more than just His disciples there with Him that day, He was speaking to us also.

I'm writing this blog, primarily to those  who have been baptized in Jesus name and have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in tongues or languages they never learned. If you wish to be obedient to the gospel let me say that you must repent of your sins, find someone who will baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ, (see Acts 4:12) and that you receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost (see John 3:5-8) just like they did in Acts 2. See Acts 2:1-4 and Acts 2:38. The Lord Jesus is not willing that you perish but that you repent. See 2nd Peter 3:9. I hope to see you in heaven!
