Bringing In The Sheaves

All quotations of the Bible are from the King James Version unless otherwise noted
That old song, Bringing In The Sheaves, has been on my mind recently. It goes like this,

Sowing in the morning sowing seeds of kindness
Sowing in the noontide and the dewy eve
Waiting for the harvest and the time of reaping
We shall come rejoicing bringing in the sheaves

      1. Chorus
        1. Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves
        2. We shall come rejoicing bringing in the sheaves
        3. Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves
        4. We shall come rejoicing bringing in the sheaves

      2. Sowing in the sunshine sowing in the shadows
Fearing neither clouds nor winter's chilly breeze
By and by the harvest and the labour ended
We shall come rejoicing bringing in the sheaves

      3. Going forth with weeping, sowing for the Master
      4. Though the loss sustained our spirit often grieves;
      5. When our weeping's over, He will bid us welcome,
      6. We shall come rejoicing bringing in the sheaves

The words were written in 1874 by Knowles Shaw and the music was written an 1880 by George A Minor and is public domain per https://library.timelesstruths.org/music/

It is a beautiful old song! I'm sure it was taken from the
passage of Scripture found in Psalm 126:5-6 which says,
"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth
forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless
come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him"

That has been the motivating factor in my wife's and my life
for our entire Christian walk together. Is it yours?
