Vacillation

All scripture references are from the King James version unless otherwise noted.
The definition of the word "vacillate," according to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary (at http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary), is as follows: "to waver in mind, will, or feeling : hesitate in choice of opinions or courses,"A prime example of vacillation is found in 1st kings 18:21 which says, "And Elijah came to all the people and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word," They were vacillating between two opinions.  The northern ten tribes of Israel just couldn't make up their minds. I wonder if that isn't still a problem for some folks today.

Another biblical example is in James 1:8 which says "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." If Jesus be God Almighty then follow Him, if the trinity then follow them! I for one don't believe that God is a community. I believe that Jesus is both Lord and Christ,  as Apostle Peter told the Jews in Acts 2:36. He is the Jewish Messiah and Savior of all men and He is the Supreme Governor of the universe. I like what Adam Clarke said about the Lord Jesus in this scripture. He said that the Lord Jesus was, "Both Lord and Christ - Not only the Messiah, but the supreme Governor of all things and all persons, Jews and Gentiles, angels and men. In the preceding discourse, Peter assumes a fact which none would attempt to deny, viz. that Jesus had been lately crucified by them."

He is my Savior. Is He yours? In James 4:8-10 the Bible says, "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."  The Lord Jesus truly is the answer for the world today.
