Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

All scripture references, unless otherwise noted, are from the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
I love the chorus we sing in church, "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus." It is in the "Sing Unto The Lord" songbook published by Word Aflame Press, #335. Although we have only sung the chorus, the words are beautiful. They are as follows;

      O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Refrain:Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conqu’rors we are!

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

I used to ask the church in Tigard, Oregon when I was their pastor, do you want to make it to heaven someday? Turn to the Lord Jesus and start walking one step at a time.  You say, " I don't believe the Acts 2:38 message." Well, I do. But if you will do as I told the church, the Lord Jesus will lead you into all the truth. He will never lead you wrong.

My friend, if you want to make heaven your home, let me encourage you too to turn your eyes upon Jesus. In the more than 51 years I have endeavored to serve Him, He has never led me wrong. He won't lead you wrong either. If you have never truly repented of you sins, and put your faith in the Lord Jesus, do so today. Read the Bible, find someone who will baptize you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ to have your sins forgiven, and let God fill you with His Holy Spirit, just as He did on the Day of Pentecost. (See Acts 2:1-4) Then live for Him with all your heart for the rest of your life. I promise you, you will never be sorry.
