A Certain Sound

All scripture references, unless otherwise noted, are from the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
I have a preaching message prepared (But I have yet to preach it).Below is the message in its entirety.
A Certain Sound

1st Corinthians 14:6-9 The Bible says, “...And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?”
The Apostle Paul was talking about speaking in tongues in church. Let me speak about a different type of trumpet sound. The trumpet that will sound at the return of the Lord Jesus.

Matthew 24:29-31 The Lord Jesus in prophesying of the end said,      “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
The day is soon coming that there will be the sound of a trumpet in this world. The Lord foretold that all the people of the earth would see the sign of the Son of Man in the heavens and mourn but the same sounding trumpet will mean salvation has finally arrived for the church.

Acts 1:4-11 At the beginning of the church age the Bible says, “And, being   assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud  received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”
Not a different Jesus but the same one who was caught up in the clouds. He is coming back to take His church out of this world.

1st Thessalonians 4:13- 18 The Bible says, “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
Yes, this same Jesus shall return as He went away. What a comfort that is to His church in these troubled days. But what a doom that awaits those who have rejected Him in that day.

Acts 2:19-21 The prophesy of Joel that we never hear much about. “And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (See Joel 2:30-32)
While the world may think that this referred to the days of the fall of Jerusalem and the Jewish nation, we are seeing the fulfillment of the last part of Joel’s prophesy in our day.

2nd Thessalonians 1:7-10 then, “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.”
This will be the end of the unbeliever!

Hebrews 10:35-37 “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.”
Jesus is coming soon, the question then is are we ready for His return? If not, we can be. The lord said in Mark 16:16, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” No one who is willing to obey the gospel call need be lost when the trumpet sounds. And it will sound!

Acts 2:38-39 says, ”... Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
God has promised us salvation if we will obey Him. How about it, will you obey the gospel today?
