Are You Trusting Jesus

     All along the way?
     Does He grow more prescious
     To your heart each day?
     Are you His disciple?
     Test His word and see,
     He will give you life and more abundantly!

Another beautiful old song based on scripture. The Lord Jesus said in John 10:10  "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." I do not know who will read this blog but let me say to you, whoever you may be, the Lord Jesus loves you and wants to save your soul.

In 1st John 4:8 the Bible says that "...God is love." God loves you! The Lord Jesus came into this world for the specific purpose of giving His life at Calvary that you and I might have the opportunity to be saved. The Bible says in Galatians 4:4-5  "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons." King David said in Psalm 51:5  "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." We were all born in that state, for the Bible says in Romans 3:23  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God..." Later in Romans 7:24 the Apostle Paul said, "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" Then in Romans 7:25 and through Romans chapter 8, Paul gives the answer to that question, "Jesus Christ."

You and I have sinned and come short of God's glory. We didn't choose to be born. Just the same we deserved the least of God's mercies and He has shown to us His greatest mercy. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:11-12 that when we were "Gentiles in the flesh...That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world" We were without hope until the Lord Jesus came. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:13, "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ."  Salvation is free. The Apostle Paul said in Romans 5:15, , "But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many." (you should read the entire text from verses 12-19) You and I could not do anything to save ourselves from the condemnation of death. Salvation is indeed free! I am made to think of the song, "Jesus Paid It All." The chorus goes as follows;

     Jesus paid it all,
     all to Him I owe.
     Sin had left a crimson stain,
     He washed it white as snow.

So what did Apostle Peter mean when he said in Acts 2:40, "... Save yourselves from this untoward generation." For you  to save yourself you must obey what Peter had said in Acts 2:38, you must "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." If you have never repented of your sins, do so today. Repentance is more than just being sorry for your failings. It is turning your life over to God and putting your faith in the Lord Jesus. If you have never been baptized in Jesus name, it is for the remission of sins.   Find someone to baptize you in Jesus' precious name today. Salvation only through the name that is above every name, the name of Jesus. (See Acts 4:12) God will fill you to overflowing with His Holy Spirit. He has promised it and He always keeps His word!

This blog has become longer than I first planned. Nuff said.
