If You Can Hear His Voice

Jesus said in John 10:27, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me..." Thank God I heard His voice that day in 1965.  But what is the voice of the Lord? I know that the Lord Jesus spoke to me that day although I did not hear an audible voice. I recognized the voice as the voice of the Lord although I do not know how I knew it was Jesus, I just knew it was. (You can read my testimony at www.thepentecostalpreacher.net)

But what is the voice of the Lord? Jesus said in John 12:32, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." He was not speaking of lifting Him up in praise and worship. That we certainly should do but the Lord was foretelling of His death on the cross. I believe this is why the Apostle Paul said to the Corinthian church in 1st Corinthians 2:2, "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."

The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ was betrayed by Judas Iscariot to the Jews for thirty pieces of silver. The Lord was then lead before the Roman Procurator, Pontius Pilate and was sentenced to death by crucifixion. The Bible implies in Matthew 27:3-5 that Judas had not expected the death sentence to be pronounced on the Lord. Thus he threw down the betrayal money in the temple and "went and hanged himself."

There is a song that I wrote years ago when we were in Yankton South Dakota, part of which goes like this:

"It was for you my friend, Jesus suffered and died;
Because He loved you so, He was crucified;
Your life was sold in sin, Jesus bought it back again,
It was for you my friend and it was for me."

Jesus said "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men to Me!" He was lifted up upon the Cross of Calvary. His voice is crying to you and I, as it were, from the cross, "Come unto Me and I will give you rest..." Matthew 11:28-29. Let me tell you without any doubt, if you can hear His voice and will come to Him, Jesus will in no wise cast you out. (see John 6:37) The Lord Jesus loves you with a love that cannot be expressed in words. It was expressed on the cross. If you can you hear His voice why not make Him your choice? Don't delay do it today!

  1. A powerful short message. Today is the day of salvation and we need to answer today while God is calling.
