There is a song that my wife and I have sung in the past the chorus of which goes like this,
"I'm amazed that a King would bleed and die for me;
I am amazed that He would shed His blood on Calvary;
I shall never, never forget His mercy to me;
down on my knees He set me free I am amazed." ( I don't know who wrote it). I am amazed that when I was lost and undone, when I was truly the enemy of God in word and deed, the Lord Jesus spoke to me and said, "Make Me your choice." I was not in church, had not been to church, had no plans to go to church. In fact I was sure that God would never love a sinner such as I was because I was so evil and had done so many bad things. But that day in 1965, the awesome presence of the Lord was made known to me and the Lord, after warning me that I didn't have much time left to choose, said in tones of the most unutterable love, "Make Me your choice, I am the only reasonable choice you have." I made Him my choice that day 46 years ago and still, I am amazed.
